This post is not me seeking a mate. I’ve rather given up on that. I’m 0 for 2 in husbands. Think I should quit before my stats get any worse. I’m looking for someone of like mind and goals. As the title says – A Homesteading, Off Gridding, Sustainable Living Partner.

You gender does not matter. Your sexual preference does not matter. The color of your skin does not matter. Age is a consideration only in that one gains experience with age. That said some people learn younger and/or quicker. It doesn’t matter if you have a mate, more hands makes the work go faster. I don’t care what you call god but I hope you call once a day. I don’t care if you drink, smoke or are 420 friendly, just do it all in moderation.

What is important are, skills, knowledge, a good work etic and all of the above that doesn’t matter to me shouldn’t bother you. Skills that overlap mine are great. Redundancy is key to survival. Skills I don’t have like welding, it comes up from time to time on a farm. I can raise healthy livestock. I can not butcher them. Due to an old shoulder injury I can’t work a chain saw. But me, an ax and a stack of wood… I see that as a very Zen way to spend an afternoon. I don’t have a lot of experience with firearms but I’m good enough to have passed my conceal & carry course. There is little I can’t grow and preserve. I haven’t tried my hand at smoking yet. I am an excellent cook, baker, pastry chef and maker of cheese. Like Hippocrates I do believe ‘Let thy food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food’. I am a prepper because I am a responsible human who doesn’t expect others to save me, nor should you. I’m not a vegamite but I can live on humus and Naan for a week if I’m too busy to cook. I have taken my bee keeper course and am looking forward to setting up my hives. I have no issue with mucking out a barn or installing a toilet but I don’t play with electricity. Off Grid to me means I won’t be paying the polluting pigs at Duke for my power which will come from a pair of Tesla Powerwalls. Hell yes I’ll be bringing my washing machine to the new farm. At 66 I am not washing my filthy jeans on a scrub board. As long as there is an internet I will be using it to sell my books and merchandise. I am also an artist, an author, a costume designer, a Pagan and I talk to dead people… sometimes on my youtube channel.

If you’re still reading… you’re also going to need money, at least $50,000. I have located a sweet 20 acres in north western North Carolina for $96,000. My house goes back on the matket this week. I’m dropping the price by $50,000 so it will sell quickly. I’m not going to sink all my cash into buying the property. You’ll have to come up with at least half, hence the word partner. You should also know I’m a royal pain in the ass when it comes to the pollution and desecration of Mother Earth and sarcasm is my first language . Oh and you need to love goats. I am the goat whisperer.

We are an older couple living in the U.K. but we have a homestead with two houses and barn in Italy. 5.5 km from a hiway, 1.5 km to a village in S.Italy. We could let you use one house that has water but not electricity (but you could). We just need basic grass cutting around the houses. For more info:
Or pass our email to a friend

We are an old couple living in the U.K. but we have a homestead in Italy with two houses. You could live in one and have your own dogs, horses, chickens ….. we just need basic cleaning around houses. You could farm or teach English on line or look for work around, you could be alone or with a friend or have children …

    • Thank you

Thank you for the offer but my children and grandchildren are here in the U.S.

So much has and hasn’t happened since I wrote this post. My house hasn’t sold due to a little thing called a world wide pandemic. All my money is tied up in the house so I don’t have the funds to make this happen. Project shelved but who knows what the future will bring?

I am definitely not what you are looking for….but interested in living in an off grid community on the BC coast. If you have any insight, please let me know.
