Mostly just want to help out, talk to others living off-grid, see what’s happening in the off-grid community and whatever else happens.[landbuddy_listing id=176 images=http://www.www.off-grid.net/wp-content/uploads/dd40bdf020adcd14f3c2e31af388cdc8.jpg|http://www.www.off-grid.net/wp-content/uploads/a93b99e6267e34d588b30868a6a1796b.jpg|http://www.www.off-grid.net/wp-content/uploads/000eb06bcf427d64ae244fea175695b8.jpg youtube=null]

The wife the dog and I are going to be on a sailboat and have a bunch of livestock with us. I’m looking for a place to spend 6 months from September to March. Wherever I end up I will share the livestock that are raised in the time frame that I’m there.
Give me a call if you have some land we can share for 6 months and want some livestock.

After that we want to go up to Alaska until September 2017 and then we head south to Ecuador for the world Orchid Congress and then to southeastern chile.

    Hey TrollDrums,

I am doing a bicycle tour and visiting as many homesteads as I can throughout the trip. Partly for working on a project I have going on, and also to help anyone else out with anything they have going on where they are.

I am young and fit enough to help. Please shoot me an email and I can tell you more about what I am doing. Thanks.

Iam young, and i live in a society whear people are allwase tired; and they dont even know it. i am young and i know that life under the power of other men, who only think they are the rules, and somtimes even gods. i go to school to learn how to memorize, not learn, and every day i dream of camping and survival, dick prenoky living in the woods for 30 years in his cabbin. i dream of the time when the increasing rate population of humans didnt scare me. i learn and love to learn, to be one with the world that we so esily kill and turn a blind eye at. i look for these settlements that so many talk about, and yet there are none to go to. i am a social creature, and so i look for settlements with atleas a dozen people, and yet i cant even find any exsisting settlements at all, let alone ones i can pick from. people want thees things, but most are to afaraid to actully get up and go, the comforts of living in holmes with power and only having mundane worries is to strong a pull for most people. i just want to live the way that is natural, happily with only the worries of my life. pleas could sombody point out a settlement in bc, or even canada.would be appreciated. tadba@live.ca

IS THERE ANYONE who is looking for some extra help around their property such as gardening, putting up a fence, looking after chickens etc. whilst living off the grid. We are currently living on Salt Spring Island in our van and we would love to do a trade for a piece of land. I can do Senior Care, Reflexology, child minding, house-cleaning, house/property/animal-sitting and the list goes on as to what we can help out with. If there is anyone on Texada Island or any other Gulf Island looking for such an exchange – IT WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE!!! – to live a peaceful, quiet life-style. Cheers! Lute and Tom

Hi Trolldrums and others. My wife and son and I are looking to move to the Comox Valley area and are wanting to purchase some land/home where we can live a simpler life, being as self-sufficient/sustaining as possible. Whether or not we are entirely off grid or not remains to be seen, but we want to head in that direction, as well as growing as much of our own food as possible; and we are definitely interested in meeting like-minded folks and seeing what others are doing.
Feel free to drop me an email to talk more!

My teen homelearner and I are moving out to Texada to live in a cabin on the rocks, with a cedar balcony wrapped wondrously round us ..

I never even thought about living off the grid. Maybe there will be no more late nite blog writing,? All I know is that I was feeling almost as craxy and burned-out as most all of the people I know whom live in this noise polluted city of Vancouver. Peace of mind was uppermost in mine … Along with finally giving my son the idyllic childhood we all deserve.

    Fascinating page you have created.

You may very well wish to contct me and place a very inexpensive ad in a paper I write and sell ads for -The Agora. I am very well able to write some sort of free editorial, too.

    Let me know.

And, come visit us out our beachfront home at Gillies Bay for a bite of a raw, vegan B&B.

    Looking forward.

    Rawsomely yours,

    Katherine

not sure how to contact you out there on Texada, but my email is walter@freefuelforever.com

Guess I should give a real estate agent an email; would you happen to know an honest one?

    Greetings,

We are looking for a place on Texada island, hopefully close to Gillies Bay, to make a solar home. Since you are in the area, perhaps you could steer us towards some waterfront property?
We like Gillies Bay area, of course off grid or no access except ocean is fine.

    thanks!

    Walter

p.s.: We can give you a free solar water heater panel (evacuated tube!) if you refer us to some land that we buy, how about that? http://www.freefuelforever.com thanks!

Hello Trolldrums. I am west of you near Strathcona Park. I just bought 56 acres and will be retiring on it in the next 3 years. The land is totally of the grid. There is a small cabin on it that I will use until I build something else. I’m open to any advice you can give me on the various needs and methods to being of the grid.
