[before_listing images= youtube=null] I am a single 34 year old male with no children looking to move off the grid very soon. I am looking to build a small solar cabin on some land less than $1000/acre to homestead on in a place that has less than 10 people per square mile (Alaska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Idaho, Utah etc.)I want to be somewhere close to the mountains. Trees are very important to me also. I have never lived off grid before and would like to live near other people who know how to live off the grid. I want to learn how to grow fruits and vegetables all year round using a solar greenhouse. It would also be a plus to be near a body of water for subsistence fishing. I am looking for a free life because I feel like the monetary system is a system of slavery and would like to escape the profit seeking ecocidal corporate system that dominates the world today. I would like to have an update on your quest to find people knowledgeable in underground housing, especially in North Dakota.

I am a single, athletic, plant-eating, California female anticipating retirement within six years. I’ve narrowed a search of possible locations to northern ND, based upon a long list of must-have criteria.

After researching off-grid dwellings for two years. I am leaning toward purchase of vacant land and building an off-grid underground home, including spacious walpini.

Are you interesting in to get land around Peru. Peru is the Inca’s land. This country has the whole seasons. We are going to be so glad to help you and do not hesitate to ask.

To Cornfed: I am really looking for people who know how to build underground homes such as the ones Mike Oehler builds at http://www.undergroundhousing.com/

40 acres with 2 bedroom, solar, wind, in Az. Very remote and peaceful.

Hey man, great idea you have in mind, and Im on the same path myself. Are you looking for team mates or are you just looking for land to do this on your own?

I have some land in central pa but there are more than 10 people per sq mile. More like 40 people per square mile i might guess but not more.
Check out my farm here http://directory.ic.org/22661/Central_Pa_Mountain_farm___for_Hip_open_minded_people but in time i would be open to moving to a northern region maybe in canada too.
