I currently work full-time as a carpenter. I serve in the Reserve Force as an Aviation System Technician (still training). I also aim to obtain my pilot license (helicopter). On top of that, I am studying and continuing my education – however, this is on my own time and extremely flexible. These are just basic online courses I’m learning for myself with no real time restraints.
I’m looking for like-minded individuals that will live off-grid with me. I would not only only like to build the foundation of my shelters, but begin building the foundation of a tightly-knit family as well. Dedicated, passionate, loyal.
You may have noticed or wondered why I use the term “Survivalists”. When living off-grid, I mean a full disconnect from the world around us. We take care of power, water, waste disposal, food, health, shelter, and security. We depend on our government for NOTHING. Now just to be clear – obviously we are free to drive into town and grab a bag of Doritos. All I want is for our land to be fully self-sufficient.
My reasoning for this is simple. It’s peaceful. There’s a real sense of accomplishment being completely independent. There’s that connection with nature, at its best and at its worst. Once the dream is realized and achieved (self-sufficiency), there are no more bills to pay, no need to work a 9-5 job. You are free to enjoy life as life was meant to be – completely and truly FREE.
However, I cannot stress enough the importance of “Survival” in survivalists. For me it’s not an obsession, it’s a lifestyle. Not only are we preparing for and building towards our freedom, we are doing it to DEFEND our freedom. Whether it’s global warming, pandemic threats, overpopulation, nuclear war, etc.. It’s good for people like us to not only be self-sufficient; but aware of the political and environmental instability that plagues our world now more than ever. People like us living off-grid should use this to our advantage to prepare for the worst case scenario.
