    Pamela, I’ve lived in Northern Utah before and yep…you don’t want that area.  The further north you get, the more staunch the LDS presence is as well, which if you’re LDS that’s not a bad thing.

    Southwestern Utah is fine, but St. George is a rather large tourist trap, so it can get quite pricey around St. George and Cedar City.  If you head east of I-15 and go North from St. George on Hwy 89, there’s plenty of really quaint little towns and rural areas up through there.

    I am not totally against settling in Utah, but I just haven’t focused my attention there.  I’ve been focusing my attention in Arizona because it’s considerably more tolerable in the winters, it’s more firearms friendly, and land is cheaper.  So, those factors alone has swung me the direction of AZ.
