I have begun a process of setting up a portable cafe/kiosk. (I currently own a cafe)

Am new to all this so have got lots of reading to do but can someone answer this first?

Is it better for the environment to be connected to the grid, still only use solar, wind etc but feed back any credit or be off the grid and have to use batteries?

Thanks & happy to have found this site!

    From wikipedia?

“The State of California is encouraging solar and wind power generation that is connected to the electrical grid to avoid the use of toxic lead acid batteries for night time storage”
