I’ve got an off-the-grid cabin in SouthWest Wisconsin, and have an older Consul propane refrigerator.  It’s stopped working, and my local propane companies will no longer do repair work on propane appliances.  Does anyone know a repairman/shop in Wisconsin that will work on these?

Not in your area, but I’m the type that likes challenges. When You say “stopped working”, do you mean just NO refrigeration?

Don’t know if you have it or have tried it, I came across the Consul Service manual.

If you mean “NO refrigeration” the list shows some basic things you can try that don’t even require service. Here’s the list based on “NO refrigeration” criteria.

    1. Refrigerator NOT Level.

    2. Not enough air circulation at rear.

    3. Injector partially blocked.

    4. No Power at outlet.

    5. Blocked system (kind of vague).

    6. Broken thermostat bulb.

    7. No refrigerant gas.

    8. Burnt out heater.

Don’t know if you covered all of those… Hope this helps.

    Good Luck
