Are there any companies that will come out, give you an estimate, and do the work to get you off the grid?

I’ve not heard of any. They would be for those who can’t do the work (or don’t want to) but still want to be OTG.

    Thanks.

I’m sure there are many companies who will do what you suggest however a lot of people who want to be off grid do so partly to be self reliant and but implementing their own systems they will be able to maintain them also.

    Another thing is the cost.

Most people slowly go over to off grid living spreading the cost over many years.

If you have enough money you can pay people to do anything

It is if you have strong electric/wiring skill. If not it is best to let someone do it for some of the regulations are not as intuitive or obvious as you may expect them to be. There is a book

If you want to do it yourself you can check out this book:

Photovoltaics design and installation manual : renewable energy education for a sustainable future / Solar Energy International.
