Uh, I’m sure any state would have some area with great soils. I live in Arkansas and of course we have lots of good soils. But we have bad areas and lots too. Many years ago Arkansas as many states were strip farmed, where erosion control was not even practiced. They would farm one hill until the soil eroded away and then move to the next one. Thankfully the poultry industry has done wonders for soils in Arkansas and other states. Poultry manure (litter) has been used widely to fertilize grass fields and pastures. Good local sources of info would be the State Geological Commisions, and county Soil Conservation services.
