Green Valley Properties, a rural property specialist in Ireland, is selling a fully equipped off-grid property in Co Clare for just €99,000. GVP is a great company – it sells land from just a few thousand Euros up to half a million.

This detached, stone-built cottage at Ballinagough, near Whitegate, has two bedrooms. It has been newly renovated, using natural materials, such as lime and hemp plaster, and is well-insulated. The property is off-grid and uses a combination of photovoltaic solar panels and a wind turbine for electricity. It comes with an established organic vegetable garden, an orchard, a large polytunnel and detached studio. It has a compost lavatory and there is no conventional bathroom.
