[before_listing id=264 images= youtube=null] Sept 2010: We have been living in Loreto, Baja Sur for 5 years (on the grid), Sea of Cortez side. Purchased a lot on the Pacific side, planning an “off-grid retreat” for cooler-dryer summer air, located on the legendary surfing points at Scorpion Bay. In 2004-2005, we took a year off to travel around the continent hauling a 5th wheel trailer and living off grid… system wise, the same concepts apply. I am a custom homebuilder… going to be fun![landbuddy_listing id=264 youtube=null]

    Hi Andrea,
That is a big question with many possible answers. Send me an e-mail and tell me what you are thinking in regard to budget for your lot and for construction. That is the easiest place to start any conversation on development. With that information, I can give you some ideas.

I’ve been to Loreto a couple of times and it is definetely the place where I would love to go on living off the grid. Do you have any information or tips on how could I start? Thank you.

Hi, We too live in Loreto part time (since 1989) and we too have an off the grid place at the Pacifc for cooler temps. Ours is a glorified block & oja camp south of San Juanico on the Rio La Purisima estuary where it meets the Pacific. Best of both worlds.
