[before_listing images= youtube=null] I was sick of the UK and looking for a way to go off grid, which is nearly impossible in the UK unless you win the lottery. Bulgaria is still a country where people survive off the land, they have power and water but don’t rely on it, so when it fails they can carry on.
Most of the village houses have land to cultivate because without it they would die. They are happy to welcome people that want to live their way and are willing to listen. If you want to do it your way, then just stay where you are.
There a LOADS of houses with land for sale, the cheep one’s need a LOT of work, but it’s worth it, the life style is one of surviving no matter the weather or government, so if you want something different have a look at Bg.[landbuddy_listing youtube=null]

Hi, I’m really interested in Bulgaria as a place where to start a new self sufficient life. I would like to talk to you.

I too agree wholly with Andy, In the Uk to want to be off the grid gets you treated as an oucast or worse i.e criminal. The uk is in fact more of a comply or else structure than most countries i know. It seems to me that government in the Uk has forgotten that it is supposed to represent the populations wishes and not treat the population as “subjects” from whom to extract taxes bring back Robin Hood I say!!

In my opinion the author of this article is “spot on”, with all that’s going on the world we seem to have forgotten what’s really important. People will spending longer queuing for the new i Phone than they will considering the planet. Bulgaria is a beautiful country and it’s suits me that it’s also a well kept secret.
