Sheryl Crow’s green baby shower

Sheryl Crow
Don’t shake her hand

Rocker Sheryl Crow whose inconvenient truth is that she wants to limit the use of toilet paper to one sheet per visit to save the environment, has notched another first in her crusade against global warming.

Whilst promoting her Stop Global Warming College Tour, an 11-date tour explaining the perils of global warming to Americans, Ms Crow has just thrown an eco-baby shower for her son Wyatt.

Yup. An eco-baby shower.

The green gala is featured in the November issue of InStyle magazine, although the magazine has not stated how much was paid for the exclusive photos.

The barf-inducing event was planned by Tracy Phillips, “a celebrated and well-respected event planner and designer, her work includes a long-established list of fundraisers, corporate and celebrity clients including Carrie Underwood, Sara Evans, and Joe Galante.”

Phillips says she gave great attention to every environmental aspect of the fete while also keeping the affair playful and retaining a down-home feel.

A list of Eco-Baby Shower Tips which Phillips used to guide her expert planning is available from Wee Generation (www.weegeneration.com) which in partnership with Healthy Child Healthy World is Seventh Generation, a provider of non-toxic, environmentally safe household products.

“There is nothing more important to a parent than keeping their baby healthy and happy,” said Christopher Gavigan, executive director of Healthy Child Healthy World, a founding partner of Wee Generation.

“We cannot think of a better way to welcome and celebrate the life of a new child than with an eco-friendly baby shower. With the easy-to-follow tips and guidance provided by Wee Generation, expectant parents can feel supported and empowered to build a healthier future for all children.”

So whilst Sheryl Crow might be criss-crossing the country in a biodiesel-powered bus spreading the word on the bathroom hygiene of the future, it seems unlikely, given her restricted use of toilet paper, that people will be queuing up to shake her hand over her latest eco initiative.
