Hello all! Like the idea of being free? not knowing where you will sleep tonight or even if you will?
I myself, an 29yr old male from Hardenberg, for some reason cant cope with the pressures that are being forced upon me by govnerment, taxoffices, banks and the society in general.
While my entire family is making peace with the fact they are treated like cattle by their employers, so they can earn money to spend 3 weeks a year feeling that they are alive, i cant help but being the outcast, not having a television, not spending all week working just to get so drunk on saturday so i can forget about the agony and stuffing myself with fabricated manipulated sick foods from big franchise corporations that get to sponsor the olympics even though their mission is to get rich by making you sick and keeping you thick…
For years i have had to fight off the feeling that i don’t fit in simply to try and fit in…
I am officially done with that and so i am planning a departure from this way of living.
I would like to just pack a bag and leave, leaving man made trails to find my own truth and to seek peace.
Loving the outdoors and only bound by the mileage i can walk, im soaking up any useful information i can get on this subject so hopefully i can sooner rather then later, zip my bag shut leave.
I would like to get in touch with people who share my thoughts or some of them at least so we can exchange knowledge and gain friendships and motivation.
I do have a dog — 3 years old female. I’m looking for a group or individual to go off grid with. I have many skills that would be useful. I currently live in a camper in a family members back yard. It’s powerd by solar power. I also have another camper that I’m fixing up. I’m looking to go as off grid as soon as I can.
I started my first garden this year, and I plan on raising chickens and rabbits with a friend soon. I’m a hard worker and fast learner.if you’re interested or would like to know more about me please contact me. My email is hotwing456@hotmail.com
As run-down properties with fairly good-sized ground is quite cheap to be had in Bulgaria, the soil is very fertile, a non-materialistic lifestyle more the norm then here in the UK I would love to move and look for single parents to take the step with me….
I am good at diy, permaculture, less good in all things mechanic….
We have 50 acres that is completely surrounded by National Forest. We also have a ton of useful equipment and machines that will make your off grid journey a breeze. Some of the things we have include a diesel powered saw mill so you can mill your own lumber to build a house or cabin right from the endless supply of timber all around you. We have just about every other kind of machine you could imagine as well including, bobcat, backhoe, excavator, farm tractor, dump truck, cement mixer, etc.
The property has a year round stream running through it and lots of fertile soil for gardening. We have running water from a spring, power from a small hydro turbine and solar. We also have Internet from Satellite (no cell service).
What we are lacking is a very few select motivate hard working people that are ready to move off grid. We need help getting a productive garden, milling trees into lumber, and building structures with the lumber we mill.
What is not important to us is your age, sex, religion, marital status, or if you have a family. What is important is that you are honest, and motivated to live off grid. In exchange for your help you can choose a parcel of land on our property and you can use our machines, lumber, etc to build your own place and never worry about a mortgage payment again.
My name is alex and im 22 still living at home. im looking to be more adventurous by hiking and backpacking, and bushcrafting. The problem is I dont have the money but I am a hard worker and willing to learn everything I can so I can be more independent. My inspiration for all this is Christopher McCandless. While he is my inspiration, I do not wish to entirely follow in his footsteps and die in the wild from eating the wrong plant. I see my friends and family all depending on technology far more than they should and I feel that I should work towards learning how to live off grid. Any help you could provide I would be most grateful and thankful beyond words. I can move at anytime, I am looking for people willing to teach and can help me be free from my government. I am not looking for super extremists looking to fight the government or for free spirit love the earth people, im looking for down to earth people that just want to live a free lifestyle and can depend wholly upon themselves.
Hi, I’ve been searching for 20-40 (or more) acres for a cabin now for many years.
I need to have water on it, trees, road passing it – that’s about it.
Please don’t contact me about another ex-clear cut for sale – seen lots of them and I don’t really want to go see more vacation lots in little communities.
20-40 acres (or more), treed, and water avail on the property. The water can be a lake, pond, or spring, even a well would be great.
I’d like to use local logs 8-12″ rounds to build a 16x20ish cabin. No services required at all, just water. I have a budget of up to $50,000 for the land.
I would also consider a 20 year land lease since I have no family and the development (buildings and all) could return to the land owner after I’m gone …
Hello all, I have the need for more mov’ins. I live on the beach of Stave Lake. Have lived there “off grid” for over 8yrs. I supply power through a large solar array, high speed internet via lte, water from a well, plus a year round creek, food from a garden (need help!!), and I have septic and unlimited wood. The property is southern facing which is perfect for growing moar!!!.. Anyway I am losing my renter at the end of May. I have a 1 bdrm cabin available for $500 month, plus a 35ft 5th wheel also available. The 5th wheel could be used on a barter basis for help possibly. I may be thinkn commune at this point lol, but its just me for now. If it matters I am a 36yr old male, and empty nested. Open to any ideas?
New to site. Empty nesters with 7.5 acre undeveloped homestead Bartow/Gordon counties seeking others to share info, resources, work, etc. We have equipment and the capacity to move it and use it. Strong Christian values and strong belief in service. Not interested in “commune” living but may be interested in equitable share for partner/partners. Sick of major corporations, scared to death of where our government spending is heading, scared to go to the grocery store not sure what I am eating any more! I am a strong believer in that the Bible says the end times are going to be rough, only those of us who are prepared to feed, house, clothe, etc. ourselves will be stable enough to survive any catastrophe, whether man made or not. Especially interested in hydro power and converting that to electricity. We want completely off the grid and have an almost blank canvas to start with and time to bide until the Lord comes back to watch it grow.
I am interested in learning more about living off grid and the off grid lifestyle. I have been working in the architectural and engineering and construction industry for over 30 years and I am getting very tired of the rat race. I have a good paying job, a good family and a nice home with over 30 acres of forest and pasture land including a year round creek with water rights and a good well. I know that I am truly blessed but the sad thing is that I have no time to enjoy it all. Like most people I spend most of my time commuting to and from work, working and tying to support my family. I would to get out of this cycle.
I love where we live but sometimes I feel like walking away from it all and going someplace to live off grid. On the other hand I could share what I have with others and learn to live a sustainable existence right where I am at. In order to do this I would have to still find a way to pay the land mortgage/taxes approximately $1700 per month. I would also need to be able to feed and clothe my family. Is this possible on 30 acres? How would I go about starting an off grid community and would people be willing to contribute (rent or barter) as needed to pay the land mortgage and taxes in return for living off the land? It seems lake we would have to raise crops or livestock and sell them at the local farmer’s markets? Any ideas? Wow would one establish multiple families on a single parcel without running into county zoning and ordinance issues?
We currently have horses, sheep, goats, Llamas, Alpacas, and chickens. Most of the animals are pets but we do eat the chicken eggs and harvest wool from our alpacas and angora goats. We also raise a couple of grass fed organic beef each year (we have plenty of poo for fertilizer) but the only thing we currently grow is grass and a few hops for my home brew hobby. I have a tractor and a few implements. Our property is also adjacent to a large DNR forest that has a lot of natural resources and recreational opportunities.
