Good value for money. Farmhouse produce that’s home-reared or made in the farm’s kitchen. Peele’s Norfolk
Black turkeys Peele saved this turkey from extinction. It has a tight-grained flesh like pheasant and, as the plumage has a high oil content, the flesh is moist. The birds roam organic meadowland, are fed on home-grown feed, then hand-plucked and hung for up to two and a half weeks. A 4kg turkey costs 48.50, 10kg, 77.50, carriage inclusive. Kelly turkeys
The Kelly bronze turkey won the industry award for the best oven-ready turkey and is recommended by Delia, Nigella and Rick Stein. Fed on local cereals, in the day the birds roam free and at night they snuggle in straw in open-sided barns. Hand-plucked and hung for at least 10 days, this leads to a tasty, succulent bird. GEESE

Clerkes Farm geese
These geese are reared in a way that Charles Dickens would have recognised. Completely free-range, they live in fields all summer and gorge on grass and home-grown corn. Seldom Seen Farm
Home to free-range geese raised on corn and potatoes. Its speciality is the three-bird roast: a boned goose, stuffed with a chicken stuffed with a pheasant, with a layer of pork and orange stuffing between each. This family has been preparing hams to the same recipe for two centuries. Whole hams can be cooked or uncooked, boneless or on the bone. Forman & Field
The London-cure smoked salmon from H Forman & Son is justly famous. The best wild Scottish salmon is gutted, cleaned and filleted by hand, then cured in dry rock salt and hung out to dry in oak-wood smoke.
