I think I am in love, and it’s with another man, but it’s not what you might think :) About a month ago, I took my friend to a nearby town to see a new doctor, there is a very long story that goes with why she wanted a new doctor, one I’ll not bore you with… the first time I saw/met this doctor, my first impression was I like him. He is about as unpretentious as you can get, he wears jeans with the cuffs rolled up, cowboy boots, t-shirts with vintage cars on them, he drives an old beater pickup truck, yes my first impression was he wasn’t like most other doctors I have met.
He is a D.O. which I also like, I’ve always been attracted to medical professionals that includes nutrition and supplements in their doctoring. The first two times my friend went to see him, I stayed in the waiting room, the third visit she asked me to come with her to ask questions and help remember what he said. He had done a very thorough blood test on her, the results of this test was some quarter inch thick! It included some genetic testing that really showed why she has some of the problems she has, I was very impressed, and I’m not easily impressed by things like this.
The next thing that impressed me was the fact that he spent nearly an HOUR with us discussing the results of said blood test, AN HOUR! Doctors just don’t do that, he explained everything, answered all of our questions, he put her on a combination of traditional medicine and alternative medicine, the alternative medicine consisting of supplements, it’s sad that THIS is considered ALTERNATIVE as opposed to the toxic drugs that most push. Diet was a huge part of this discussion.
Needless to say, I want this doctor to be my doctor and I have found a way to do it without having health insurance and without it costing me an arm and a leg. I’ll tell you how this worked for me in the second part to this writeup. :)
