Green hills/Hobbit Hole
by DEVLYIN on FEBRUARY 20, 2013 - 9 Comments in I WANT TO GO OFF GRID

We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is take life how it is and roll with it. Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending…i’m 23, married and after a long hard thought out process ive decided to go back to the simple things. i dont want to move away because of the media or the social bullshit, im gonna say it my wife, and i smoke marijuana and if possible wanna get away with having a plant or two and f**k the government hype if i can get away to colorado it would be the best but if not im not that upset about it. i want to build a little hobbit hole in the middle of nowhere and and i can set up a black smithing shop and possibly a little herb garden my views on life is textbook existentialism if you belive in jesus then im all happy for you if your jewish, shalom i dont mind the exchanging of ideas and beliefs. The only thing i dont like is having your beliefs pushed on me. I will respect your beliefs, I’ll even pray with you….. but dont force me to believe something i cant. That being said, i’m open, honest and if there is a problem i want you to express your feeling to me face to face and dont tell me lies – and i would do the same for you

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.

You’ve got it right my man! All comes down to live and let live, too bad our society has to challenge that. Cheers

I’ve been to Slab City, cool place to check out in the cooler months, but summer is hell. Theres also alot of BS that goes on around there and the police are now busting chops and arresting people for all sorts of petty nonsense. Nothing good last forever.

I’m interested in doing the same thing as ya’ll. I’m looking at places with good climate for farming. If you’d like to split costs lets discuss possibilities.

How come all the smart people live out West? I am so happy to hear about people who think like me out here on the East Coast….. You guys have a better mind set than many. It’s hard to find people who actually care about the Earth or even understand what living ‘off the grid’ means. Thank you for your posts.

Webstock: Im from the east and have to agree, there is a big difference in the general attitude between the East and West. I cross counrty road tripped last winter to the southwest for the first time, and what I can say is… its where more colorful birds seem to flock.
