Looking forward to learning exactly how to get off the grid.
I have no experience in the areas that you are searching for but I am extremely willing to learn to be 100% sustainable and therefore would love to speak with you about possibly helping you create your commune. Have you looked into the organization WWOOF? It’s a work exchange and I think it could be very beneficial to you as you build your community.
Hello, we are looking to off the grid. Although we do not have something established, I grew up in Wisconsin on a farm. We did not have indoor plumbing and I do know a lot with regards to farming, etc. My husband and I have a lot of knowledge with living off the land, my husband was a camp leader. We are looking to move to Tennessee and live off the grid. Let us know..
Ya that commune sounds beautiful.. as far as hunting and gathering I could be a great asset some background in construction as well..

Hello!
My husband’s contract with the United States Army is coming to an end this spring and we have long dreamed of living a life, to call our own. We both come from very self reliant families, his building their own cabins, mine gardening and preserving. We have both adopted our families abilities and look to expand our self reliance to becoming completely self reliant. Being military now, this is a complete change! We have two beautiful children and we want them to have the same opportunities we had growing up. to walk on th earth God provided us, not a concrete pathway. Please if you should have room for us within your community, we are passionate and completely in on the idea. We thank you for supportingthe OTGlifestyle and allowing others to get a chance to ” Go back to their roots” sincerely hope we can be a part of you team!Good luck to you and all who you incorporate!!!!!
i grew up on a farm with out house and wood stove for heat. i have been doing my own search on info. and an in knoxville ,tn and would love to help out. i want to go off the grid with my son and raise him to respect the earthy and old ways
me and my husband would love to know more about this place, currently we live in alabama and want to move off the grid hopefully into a community as opposed to alone… please send me information!
would love to know if this ever got off the ground (or should i say grid :P) could contribute quite a bit
I’m definitely interested.
I grew up in East Tn in a log cabin with woodburning stove. I’m well versed in making simple snares and traps as well as the medicinal properties of plants of that region, as well as their edible parts and how to prepare them so that they are edible. (not to mention how to skin, clean, and prepare small game such as rattlesnake and squirrel) I was schooled by the best baby! Mellungeons! I’m living in chicago now but am desperatley mourning the loss of my connection with nature and divine humanity. I’m young, strong, resilient, resourceful, prudent, and fearless! Please contact me and i’ll jump in the volvowagon and be there yesterday. I’d love to be a part of this.
My husband and I would love to just escape and live off the land. We and several of our friends are dedicated to creating our own community but don’t have the means to start up. Would love to know how you are doing and if you are recruiting families.

Hello!
So glad to know of someone close by who is working toward a similar goal as us! My husband and I have been off grid in Macon County for years and are also working toward both a small co-op community and toward greater resilience for our surrounding community. This is a fledgling effort but here are our two blogs. We’d love to hear from you!

Hello, I have had some experience at OTG living and I must say that 50 homes is almost un-doable. To many conflicting ideas. I would start with no more than 10 people. If that works out you can grow slowly from there. You are correct in wanting to go OTG but it is tuff job to get all the things working with people you can trust and count on. Regards Charles
