For ex. if you put a $34k system on a 12% interest credit card and pay the minimums each month, you will end up paying $17k in interest and it will take you 50 years to pay off. If you are lucky enough to have cash on hand, then of course this would not apply to you. If you are adding it to your property taxes, you will be paying on that for as long as you own the house.
