Authors Dan Bartmann and Dan Fink both have more than 20 years’ experience building wind turbines. A few years ago they started giving seminars nationally on how to build and install wind turbines.  Then they decided to write a book about their work, and publish it themselves.

Harnessing the wind can be a tricky business, and the authors provide step-by-step, illustrated instructions for building a wind generator in a home workshop. Even if you don’t plan on building your own turbine, this book is packed with information for anyone considering wind energy.

It covers the basic physics of how the energy in moving air is turned into electricity, and will give you a realistic idea of what wind energy can do for you–and what it can’t.

The two Dans, who live in Colorado, began building wind turbines to help power the remote, off-grid mountain community in which they both live and created Buckville Publications and wrote and released the first title, Homebrew Wind Power. The authors are solar and wind-powered in their personal lives, and Buckville books are printed in Canada on 100% recycled paper.
