Is it possible for you to get some pictures of this process?? I am very interested. Do you out the water in the filter pot and let it drain into another pot? Hope to hear from someone soon. Any design ideas for large size filters??

hello.
im a highschool student living in bogota, colombia at the moment. I've been looking for ways to bring potable water to many rural areas in Colombia. would it be posible to give me more specif instructions as to how i could filter water... maybe even how i could do it in a large scale? like filter enough for a family of 5 or maybe a small town?

I await your response,

It's no joke, please take the time to re-read the article, no one is saying you use manure to filter water, the manure and leaves are the fuel to fire the clay filter to a high enough temperature to turn it into a ceramic vessel capable to filtering water. This is directed to people in 3rd world countries and any other people who have limited or no access to kilns or electricity, they need clean drinking water just like everyone else does, this is a method they (or anyone) can use, utilizing commonly available raw materials, it costs nothing but a bit of time and knowledge to make it possible to have clean, sanitary drinking water.
