Hi BB, yeah, I bet it's COLD in the winter! We get cold here, but not consistently, it warms back up in short order! :) Hope you can get back off grid when you want to. :)

*******************

Nan, thanks, I would recycle coffee grounds IF I drank enough coffee to do that, my hubby drinks tons but he prefers instant. I prefer brewed, but drink it maybe once or twice a month, that's why I don't mind using the fresh stuff. :)

Wretha

Two thoughts: my first reaction was to wonder if it could be another way to get my caffeine fix.

Second, what about recycling? You know, after you brew the coffee, let the grounds dry out and then use them for a facial scrub.

Coffee is one thing I'm really going to miss when cheap freight is truly a memory and things like coffee and tea go back to being luxury goods.

Hi Wretha!

I read your entire site! Very good.

My husband and I lived off grid totally (no lines from utility) for over 5 years. We are not living there now as we went over the road driving truck for 3 - 1/2 years and just got back here to Central NY after growing tired of the gypsy life. :-)

We are not moving back to our little cabin that we built on our 14 acres until we build another house there. We have a barn. The cabin is far too rustic and it is just too hard to do it here in central NY state unless you have a really good setup. Heating in winter is a big issue!

Anyway, good luck in your endeavors.

Someday I'll be back off grid in my newly built solar gain concrete block house!

If you like you can check out my blog (keep in mind I am brand new to this blogging stuff) at
http://bamblingblatherskite.blogspot.com/

Hi Scavenger,

Thanks for your comments, I really appreciate each and every one. Don't worry unless your coffee starts tasting funny! Just tell her to get the coffee FIRST, then add the moisturizer...

I checked eweremembered, cool site! I left a comment on his blog.

Great news about getting a steer!

Wretha

My cousin has just started blogging and after seeing your link on my page he said that he spent the day reading your entire blog. He thought it was great also.
