World Bioenergy 2006, Conference & Exhibition for Energy, J?nk?ping, Sweden
30 May – 1 June 2006
Those looking for a green solution to the fossil fuel crisis should turn their attention to the rapidly growing field of Biomass. Biomass includes all renewable vegetable and animal matters that can be used for industrial (fiber, chemicals) or energy production (heat, electricity, fuel) and is the focus of the World Bio-energy conference to be held in Sweden in 2006.
Replacing fossil fuels with bio-fuels for heating, electricity generation and transport is an integral part of the Kyoto commitment for a sustainable supply of environmentally friendly energy sources, and unsurprisingly the conference host Sweden is at the forefront of pioneering its implementation.
In 2002, 20 % of the total Swedish energy demand was supplied from bio-energy sources. Building on the success of the first World Bio-energy conference in 2004, the 2006 conference hopes to encourage the adaptation of this method of energy production with the theme Taking you from Know-How to Show-How.
