Caravan sites on racecourses
by NICK ROSEN on SEPTEMBER 14, 2004 - 0 Comments in LAND, OFF-GRID 101

Even if you are not into gambling or horses, consider using caravan sites at some of the top UK racecourses as a place to park your camper for a few nights.

From Uttoxeter in Staffordshire and Thirsk in North Yorkshire, to Exeter in Devon and Wincanton in Somerset (which has a few off-grid pitches at 6 per night), racecourse campsites are a way to spectate the races for free and get a slice of life that you may not have experienced before. They tend to be quaint and scenic — a way of experiencing theme park Britain.
